About Berkshire Gynaecology
Berkshire Gynaecology is run and managed by Mr Alex Swanton.
All aspects of general gynaecology along with specialist areas
are provided by Consultant Gynaecologist Mr Alex Swanton.
Areas of special interest include include keyhole surgery,
menstrual/bleeding problems, endometriosis, fibroids,
hysterectomy (keyhole), female and male subfertility, assisted
conception & IVF, polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent
miscarriage, ultrasound scanning and early pregnancy.
About Mr Alex Swanton
Mr Swanton graduated from University College London and
completed his postgraduate training in the Oxford Deanery.
Mr Swanton has developed particular expertise over a number
of years in keyhole surgery for conditions including fibroids,
hysterectomy and endometriosis. He is accredited and fee assured
with BUPA, AXA and all other major health insurance companies.
He has over 15 years of IVF experience both in practice and
research. His MD thesis studied women with PCOS undergoing IVF
treatment and has received a number of national and
international awards.
His research interests include subfertility, PCOS,
endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage and fibroids as well as
being an expert in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Swanton is a Consultant Gynaecologist at The Royal
Berkshire Foundation Hospital and Director of Thames Valley
Fertility

Thames Valley Fertility is the first IVF unit in Berkshire
and a state of the art clinic providing all aspects of IVF and
assisted conception. Thames Valley Fertility is a partner clinic
to Oxford Fertility. The consultants at Thames Valley Fertility
have over 40 years’ experience of assisted conception between
them.
